Hentai history: from origins to nowadays

Hentai birth happened when manga met porn. Japanese culture frowns on anything other than what they see as the norm and still anime is allowed to get away with pretty much anything. Japan holds onto chauvinistic traditions and still exercise their violent sexual fantasies. Well, before 1972 the Americans tried to make money on two animations which had adult content and were from Japan, they both had an X-rating when they were advertised and these two films were called Senya ichiya monogatari and Kureopatora after being retitled they became Thousand and One Arabian Nights and Cleopatra: Queen of Sex. With the film lasting 130 minutes and the first animated film to be erotic One Thousand and One Nights is an animated film which is one of the longest even to this day. But there has always been erotic drawings in Japanese culture dating back to the first ever drawings in the Edo period (1600 – 1867) these were very sexually explicit and very unreserved. Hentai in japanese culture is now very important.

Hentai in modern times

Once the constitution was created in 1947 some things changed such as freedom of speech and censorship even the idea of obscenity and what is seen as pornography became varied over the years. Hentai nowadays, 30 years later. So this is what hentai became, a result from the outcome of many factors including social change and the constitution, family traditions which became individualism, men needing to regain control which they had lost over women and technology which gave them hentai. Thus a need to use fiction as a means of escape and a way to break free. The future of hentai is bright.
